I'm using 2.4.18 patched with the smb-codepage patch, however I've had about 3 
hard lockups on my laptop in the last time (all under load, eg. compiling), 
system is i440BX, PIII Cu-Mine 850, 256MB PC100SD-RAM, apm-kernel).
